The Taliban interior minister appeared in front of the media for the first time.
The Taliban’s interior minister, whose face has not been pictured since the group’s rule in Afghanistan began, appeared before the media today at the graduation ceremony of the country’s police students.
Sirajuddin Haqqani, the Taliban’s acting interior minister, first appeared before the media on Saturday, March 5th, at a graduation ceremony for Afghan police.
Haqqani, whose image has been blurred in the media so far, released pictures and videos of him today.
The United States has offered him a $ 10 million ransom and is on a UN sanctions list.
He is the leader of the Haqqani network and one of the two senior deputies of the current Taliban leader, Malahatullah, who previously oversaw the armed struggle against the United States and foreign forces.
Haqqani is still wanted by the FBI and has been offered a $ 10 million ransom by the State Department, where he has met with senior officials from various countries, including the UN special envoy to Afghanistan.
He is one of the most powerful figures in the current Taliban government and the head of the Haqqani Network.
Under the terms of the Doha agreement, the blacklist and award list were to be removed in exchange for commitments, but this has not yet been done.
Sirajuddin Haqqani’s face has been in the media while the face of Taliban leader Malahatullah Akhundzadeh remains hidden. Only one photo of Akhundzadeh has been published.
Sirajuddin Haqqani is the head of the Haqqani Network. The Haqqani Network is accused of carrying out the deadliest bombings and suicide attacks in Afghanistan’s urban centers in recent years.
Sirajuddin Haqqani had recently confirmed that more than a thousand people had passed under his control and carried out suicide attacks.
