Demonstrations in Baghdad; Protest against “Hoshyar Zebari” candidacy for the presidency.
Baghdad is witnessing mass demonstrations today (Monday) in protest of “Hoshyar Zebari”‘s candidacy for the presidency.
Al-Nusra Square in central Baghdad is witnessing mass demonstrations rejecting Hoshyar Zebari’s candidacy for the Iraqi presidency.
The Telegram channel “Saberin News” published images of the demonstration in which the protesters described the corrupt and separatist as having images of the conscious.
The reason for the strong protests among the Kurdish people and parties against Zebari’s conscious candidacy for the presidency is the existence of numerous corruption cases against him. Cases that have previously led to his impeachment and removal from the ministry.
More than three months after the Iraqi parliamentary elections, the duties of the two Iraqi presidents and prime ministers are still unclear. In Iraqi politics, which has lasted since the first election in 2005, Sunni groups hold the presidency, Kurds the presidency, and Shiites the prime minister.

The Iraqi presidency has been in the hands of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan since the fall of Saddam, according to an internal agreement between the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and the Democratic Party of Iraqi Kurdistan. There was a new dispute between the two parties.
Even now, while the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) party is emphasizing the need for Barham Saleh to be re-nominated for the post, Barzani’s party is trying to win the presidency this time. In this regard, it has started movements.
Coinciding with the demonstration, Iraqi media sources reported that Iraqi Parliament Speaker Mohammad al-Halbousi and Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government President Nachirvan Barzani had arrived in Najaf Ashraf to meet with Muqtada al-Sadr.
