Federal Minister for Development and Planning Asad Umar has said that solar energy would be provided to more than 3,000 households in Gwadar without the role of the people. The government is working to address the power supply crisis in Gwadar.

He said that Frontier Works Organization (FWO) has been tasked to complete the project as soon as possible while Quetta Electric Supply Company has already signed an agreement with FWO. After which it will be able to get 100 MW power from Gwadar National Grid Station.
Asad Umar said that solar panels would be provided to 3,200 houses in Gwadar with the cooperation of China. The project would be launched in March next year. The government is also taking steps to remove barriers to water supply to the old settlements of Gwadar Town.
Asad Umar said that China has set up two vocational centers in Gwadar where local youth will be trained in various skills. The work is done.
