Russian official: America, has failed at democracy, which it has been teaching other countries.
In an interview, the deputy head of Russia’s Security Council said that the United States, which has failed to establish democracy within its own country, is working hard to teach democracy to other countries.
Russia’s deputy security council, Yuri Orianov, said the United States had failed to build democracy within its own country but was working hard to teach other countries how to build democracy.
“Recently, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken was asked whether Washington, with all its problems, has the right to teach democracy to countries around the world, which he jokingly said,” the Russian official told a newspaper. “Fortunately, he is not in charge of the internal affairs of his country.”
“There is a Russian proverb that says that anyone who does not know how to do something teaches it to others, and that is the American style,” Orianov continued. “Washington has failed to build democracy at home, but it is working hard to teach other countries how to build democracy.”
A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman said in a statement a few days ago that “democracy” has long been a “weapon of mass destruction” used by the United States to intervene in other countries.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov called the so-called “democracy” meeting in the United States “an attempt by Washington to divide nations” and stressed that Russia’s view of it was 100 percent negative.
