According to the details, world renowned airline Fly Dubai has applied to start flight operation for Skardu. According to media reports, Fly Dubai has submitted application to Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority to start flight operation in Skardu.
In this regard, a press release has been issued by Civil Aviation stating that Fly Dubai will be able to start regular operations for Skardu after approval from Pakistan Civil Aviation and Dubai Civil Aviation.
According to a CAA press release, the launch of international flight operations will be a game changer for the promotion of tourism in the country. According to further details, important steps are being taken by the government of Pakistan to promote the tourism sector in the country.
The country’s internationally renowned tourist city of Skardu has been given the status of an international airport. Earlier, in a statement issued by the CAA, the Civil Aviation Authority announced the status of Skardu Airport as an international airport to promote tourism in the country. According to Civil Aviation Authority officials, international flights will start from Skardu Airport tomorrow (December 2).
With the upgrade of Skardu Airport, direct flights from abroad to Skardu have become possible. With the upgrade of the airport, Skardu will be connected to the routes of international flights in Pakistan. The move will also boost tourism and increase foreign exchange with the advent of international flights, which could make Skardu Airport available to designated foreign airlines under the agreements.
It should be noted that Prime Minister Imran Khan has shown special interest in promoting tourism in the country and attracting foreign tourists. In this regard, it was announced by the federal government in July this year that Skardu Airport would be upgraded to the status of an international airport.
With the upgrade, Skardu Airport will be open for flights all year round. After the upgrade, it will be a state-of-the-art airport that will be open in all seasons and all year round and with the help of this airport tourists will be able to visit Skardu all year round. Tourist arrivals in the region are expected to increase further after the upgrade of Skardu Airport.
