Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the Accounts Committee is a forum to protect the tax money of the people. We are pursuing our anti corruption policies and if someone want to hide corruption cases let me know .
He said that the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) is a forum to protect the tax money of the people. Till now it has not been proven very successful . It should expose corruption cases of previous governments , no concessions should be made to anyone who supports corruption.
According to sources, Prime Minister Imran Khan was met by government members of the Public Accounts Committee in which Riaz Fatyana and Noor Alam Khan briefed the Prime Minister about the performance of the PAC. The Public Accounts Committee is a forum for the protection of the people’s tax money, but it has not come up with effective results in identifying corruption.
Committee members said that Public Accounts Committee only looks after audit paras, corruption cases do not reach logical conclusion due to weakness of agencies like FIA and NAB. The Prime Minister directed the committee members to ensure attendance in PAC meetings. He said that the opposition leaders were trying to cover up the irregularities in their time. “You people have a very important role to play.
Imran Khan said that you are all senior politicians. You are expected to highlight the cases related to corruption. The cases of corruption of the previous government should be brought to light. Also expose the corruption of the present government. No concessions should be made to any supporter, whoever tries to tarnish the image of corruption, let me know, we will not back down from the policy of eradication of corruption, whoever is involved in corruption should be brought to book.
