Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that lasting peace in the region is not possible till Kashmir issue is resolved amicably. There is no back channel communication with India on Kashmir issue and it should be resolved according to UN resolutions.
According to details, an in-camera meeting of the Parliamentary Kashmir Committee was held under the chairmanship of Shehryar Afridi. Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi also attended the meeting. Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi briefed the Kashmir Committee on the situation in Occupied Kashmir The Kashmir issue is burning, all the previous governments kept the Kashmir issue alive.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that India tried to use every opportunity to show Pakistan connivance, lasting peace in the region is not possible till a just solution to Kashmir issue, despite political differences Parliament is one voice on Kashmir issue. All the institutions are on the same page. After the unilateral Indian move on 5th August, Kashmir issue was raised in the international forums. India was giving the impression that the 5th August move was an internal matter.
He said that Indian claim in the Security Council was practically rejected, OIC is the second largest forum after UN, Kashmir issue has been highlighted in OIC. Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that serious human rights violations. Raised in the Human Rights Council, took a parliamentary delegation of Pakistani political parties to the House of Commons, the move of two nuclear powers to war is tantamount to suicide, complex issues can only be resolved through dialogue.
The Foreign Minister said that we have a clear position that the Kashmir issue should be resolved in the light of UN resolutions. A large section in India is raising its voice on the Kashmir policy of the government.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the two reports of the Human Rights Commission on Occupied Kashmir support the Pakistani position.
The Foreign Minister said that the conspiracy to interpret India’s independence movement as terrorism had failed. He wished that a report on Kashmir be presented in the meeting of IC Foreign Ministers.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi while giving various suggestions for raising the issue of Kashmir in the international forums at the parliamentary level said that despite 74 years of Indian oppression, the morale of Kashmiris has not diminished, India lost the war of heart and mind with Kashmiris.
He said that the Indian government has adopted a derogatory attitude towards the body of Syed Ali Gilani. Thank God there is a national consensus on issues of national interest. There is no back channel link with India on Kashmir issue. Our position is clear. The Foreign Minister said that the Kashmiris had to bear the brunt of the Indian aggression on the LoC and would continue to support the Kashmiris till the right to self-determination was achieved.
