Acknowledging the power of Lebanon’s Hezbollah missile arsenal, the Israeli Minister of War claimed that they would act independently of the international community to stop Iran.
Israeli War Minister Benny Gantz on Thursday evening criticized the European Troika’s decision to abandon the anti-Tehran resolution at the International Atomic Energy Agency’s Board of Governors.
In an interview with Fox News, Gantz claimed that if the international community did not prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapons capability, Israel would act independently to stop Iran.
Reiterating baseless allegations against the Islamic Republic of Iran, he said: “It would be great if the world stopped them [before us]. “But if that does not happen, we have to act independently and we have to protect ourselves.”
Acknowledging that the Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movement has significant amounts of missiles and rockets with which it can target all Israeli positions, the Israeli Minister of War threatened that Tel Aviv continued to block the flow of weapons to Syria by continuing the attack on Syria, according to the Fox News website.
Regarding US President Joe Biden’s desire to return to the Iran nuclear deal, Gantz called for the issue of pro-Iranian groups to be addressed in any future agreement with Tehran, saying: “US policy should be US policy and Israeli policy remains Israeli policy.”
“I am determined to stop Iran, we are hitting them all over the region,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said earlier in an interview with Kahn Radio. “We are in the Middle East.” (More details)
In May 2018, the US government withdrew from the Joint Action Plan (JCPOA) and imposed other sanctions on Iran, in addition to imposing sanctions suspended under this agreement.
Despite verbal opposition to the US withdrawal from the UN Security Council, the European troika did not live up to its promises to make up for the effects of the withdrawal. The Islamic Republic of Iran, in response to the inaction of European countries in five steps in accordance with the provisions of JCPOA, reduced its obligations under the agreement.
Iran recently announced on March 26 that it would suspend the voluntary implementation of the Additional Protocol. Iran’s action is in line with the implementation of the law approved by the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran, which obliges Iran’s partners in JCPOA to lift sanctions and protect the interests of the Iranian people, in line with the rights of the Islamic Republic of Iran under Articles 26 and 36 of JCPOA.
