Finance Advisor Shaukat Tareen while announcing the mini budget next week has said that next week the mini budget will be presented . The IMF talked about 700 billion rupees taxation but I made them agreed on Rs 350 billion in taxation. If oil prices decrease in intl markets we will increase rupee levies on petrol
According to details, speaking on a program on private TV channel Samaa News, Finance Advisor Shaukat Tareen said that he would bring in money by next week. Needs to increase.
He said that there is no 350 billion new tax in the money budget but these are the taxes on which the people had got some exemption. The IMF asked us to make further reforms in the tax system. Talking about the agreement reached with the IMF, Finance Advisor Shaukat Tareen said that the new agreement with the IMF is different from the previous one.
He said that the IMF had talked about Rs 700 billion in taxation and I had agreed on Rs 300 billion. The IMF has asked us to standardize the sales tax rates to 17% and is taking steps to increase the tax net, which will increase tax collection. Shaukat Tareen said that our income tax has increased to 32%, people keep land but do not pay tax so now they will assess people’s assets and levy tax.
He said that the IMF had said that the price of electricity should be increased by Rs. Shaukat Tareen further said that the IMF has informed that the appointment of the governor will be done by the cabinet. Talking about petroleum products, Finance Advisor Shaukat Tareen said that they would increase petrol levy when prices in the global market fall while they were also thinking of imposing additional duty on luxury items.
