Lebanese Minister of Information: Saudi Arabia’s problem with Lebanon is beyond me and is about Hezbollah.
After strained relations between Beirut and several Gulf Arab states, the Lebanese Minister of Information said that Saudi Arabia’s problem goes beyond his recent remarks about the Hezbollah movement.
“I am ready to leave my post as soon as possible if it opens the door to Lebanese relations and, “[The countries of the Gulf] will become.”
“But everyone now knows that the current problem is far beyond me and related to Saudi Arabia’s position on Hezbollah’s role in Lebanon and the region, as Riyadh itself has made it clear several times.”
Qardahi also commented on the reason for not holding the Lebanese cabinet meeting: “What primarily prevents the cabinet meeting from taking place is the dispute over Judge Tariq Bitar, the investigator in charge of the Beirut port bombing. “In addition, the government faces very difficult living, social, economic and financial challenges, with or without me, and the sharp rise in drug prices is just one example of potential and actual challenges, so my story is only a small part of these complexities.”
