The escalation of the rift in the White House; Harris’ senior assistant resigns
The resignation of a senior aide to the US vice president has fueled previous rumors of a sharp rift between his office staff.
According to Fars News Agency’s International Group, following the publication of internal disputes among the employees of the office of “Kamala Harris”, the Vice President of the United States, the media have reported that “Ashley Etienne”, her director of public relations, is resigning.
Etienne, a former member of the US House of Representatives,’s Nancy Pelosi, joined Kamala Harris shortly after Joe Biden won the US presidential election. He had said at the time that he would only be with Harris for a year.
The White House said in a statement to the Daily Mail that Etienne plans to step down in December to pursue other plans. “Ashley is a valued member of the Vice President’s team who is working tirelessly to advance the goals of this government,” the White House official said. “He will leave the government in December to pursue other plans.”
Biden’s one-year anniversary will come in January 2022, but according to the statement, Etienne will leave Kamala Harris in December 2021.
In this position, Etienne was responsible for regulating Harris’ media activities and promoting his public image. In recent weeks, there have been reports in the American media of Harris’s poor performance in the Biden administration, the differences between his staff, and his marginalization by Biden.
