Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said that the federal government had passed a bill on Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) in a joint sitting of Parliament to harm democracy in the country. He said that a law was passed in the National Assembly yesterday under which rigging would take place, electronic voting machines in the National Assembly were bad and EVMs bill was passed for elections in the country.
He said he did not know how many members were in his assembly, adding that the bill was passed to harm democracy in the country.
In response to a question, he said that if EVM is used in the next elections, the seats they have won will not be found.
Referring to the transfer of 11 officers, he said that some ignorant and irrational people, some of whom are in Sindh and the federation, are misrepresenting, saying that the Sindh government prevents the officers of the federation from working. I am saying that these are not federal officers.
The Chief Minister said that the Civil Service of Pakistan Capital Card Rules were made in 1954 in which it was stated that these are officers of the Federation and not of the Federation.
He said that we had received some notifications a few days ago. Will belong to the federation and 40% will belong to Sindh
“We have 19 officers from Sindh. When we told the federation, they said that this is the situation in all the provinces. A few days ago, when the Chief Justice of Pakistan summoned me to the court, I informed him that he I was directed to write a letter to the Attorney General, to which the federation sent 7 PSK and 8 PSP officers.
He said that according to the law, these officers should come in consultation with the Prime Minister and Chief Minister but the Prime Minister did not consult me.
Murad Ali Shah informed that it has been decided in the cabinet meeting that the four officers whom you have mentioned to be called from Sindh, the cabinet rejects the proposal and the cabinet accepts the four officers sent by you. More officers should be sent.
The Chief Minister Sindh said that I warn the federal government that your quarrel is with me, do not harass the officers, if you have to fight, then fight with the Sindh cabinet. Never give you permission.
Addressing the federal government, the Chief Minister said that you say that we work on merit, we have seen your merit, you people want to ruin the governance of Sindh.
He said that the second important thing is the census, on which we have reservations. And there are more than 8.585 million households in Sindh.
He said that when the number of people per household in Sindh was reduced in the census, our total population is more than 60 million. You have reduced it to less than 48 million.
He said that a committee was constituted by the federal government which was asked to consult the provinces but we did not hold any consultation.
He said that he had written a letter to the Prime Minister on October 15 in which he had talked about power plants. Regarding which NEPRA itself has written that these plants do not meet the cheap power project, I have not received a reply to this letter.
Informing about the decisions taken in the Sindh cabinet meeting, Murad Ali Shah said that the cabinet has fixed the price of wheat at Rs. The farmer deserves 50% of the production and this price has been fixed for him so that the farmers can benefit.
The Chief Minister said that last time the price was fixed at Rs. 2,000 and the price of a sack was going up to Rs. Instead of benefiting the country’s farmers, the federal government is benefiting Ukraine and other countries.
Murad Ali Shah said that the federal government has a subsidy scheme in a fertilizer in response to which we have written to the federal government that we are participating in it.
Informing about the decisions taken in the meeting, he said that it has been recommended to set up a circuit bench in Mirpur Khas on which the judges of Sindh High Court will consult the Governor of Sindh.
Consultations have been held in the meeting regarding irrigation lands. It has been said that the lands which are with the Irrigation Department and they do not need them have been allotted for the slum dwellers.
During the meeting, the Sindh Cabinet gave permission for registration of electric vehicles while the Sindh Chief Minister directed to remove the number plates of Applied for Registration (AFR).
In Sindh Cabinet meeting, Manzoor Wassan, Advisor to Sindh Chief Minister on Agriculture, directed the Sindh Chief Minister about the development work of his department.
Briefing on the occasion, he said that the agriculture department has a total of 43 schemes worth Rs. 5 billion. The government has released Rs. 900 million in which Rs. 565.5 million has been spent.
During the meeting, the issue of Katchi Abadis of Rice Canal Larkana was discussed in which the Sindh Katchi Abadi Authority requested the Irrigation Department to provide irrigation land to them so that they could be regularized. Irrigation lands were allotted for Katchi Abad.
The Cabinet discussed the rotation policy of Pakistan Administrative Service and Police Officers on which the Cabinet also decided to form a cadre of Sindh Police Service.
Regarding the subsidy on fertilizer in Rabi, it was said in the briefing that the federal government would pay Rs 1.65 billion in subsidy and the Sindh government would also pay the same amount. The Sindh cabinet approved the package.
