Jabbar al-Ma’mouri, head of the Diyala Muslim Ulema Union, said the US military was seeking to open six routes for ISIS elements to infiltrate from Syria into Iraq.
He added: “Seeing the victories of the popular uprising has driven Americans crazy.” The popular mobilization has been able to take control of the desert areas in the border region between Iraq and Syria, despite the limited facilities at its disposal.
Al-Ma’mouri said that the popular mobilization forces have thwarted many plans and for the infiltration of ISIL elements, especially the prominent leaders of this organization, into Iraq.
He said: “The popular mobilization forces have closed six main routes for the infiltration of ISIS elements into Iraqi territory, and the bombing of the positions of these forces near the Syrian border was carried out with the aim of disrupting this deal.”
Al-Ma’mouri stressed that the car bomb blast in the western part of Al-Anbar province sends an important message regarding the transfer of suicide bombers from the Syrian Al-Hool camp to Iraq.
The head of the Union of Muslim Scholars in Diyala had previously stated that most of the suicide bombers killed in Iraq had entered the country from Syria.
