Will the Bennett-Lapid cabinet fall?
From Tuesday morning, the Zionist regime will begin its budget review sessions in public. After that, if the budget bill submitted by the cabinet is not approved, the Knesset is dissolved, and early elections will be held about 3 months later. Because according to the law, if a cabinet fails to approve the annual budget, it will be dissolved.
Budget bill review sessions
The review of the proposed budget bill will start at 9:00 AM on Tuesday and will continue until 6:30 PM on Wednesday evening. During this time, opponents of the budget have 24 hours to critique the proposed bill, and 9 hours are allotted to the members of the current cabinet coalition to defend their proposed bill. After that, the voting will take place at 19:00 on Wednesday, and if the budget bill is not approved by a majority vote, the Knesset will be dissolved by announcing the time of early elections, which will be about 3 months later.
Efforts by both sides to retain votes
Currently, the Likud party, led by former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as the current cabinet opposition, has done its best to overthrow the current cabinet by attracting the votes of some members of the coalition to the opposition.
Meanwhile, all parties are trying to ensure that none of the members is absent on election day by holding meetings and contacting their members. The members of the Cabinet Coalition are also trying not to overthrow the current Cabinet by holding constant consultations and talks with their members on election day.
Absence of “Bennett” in review sessions
The current Prime Minister of the Zionist regime, Naftali Bennett, will not attend the review sessions due to his attendance at the UN Climate Conference and will probably come to the Knesset for a voting session. That is why, before leaving occupied Palestine, he described the opposition’s efforts as “disappointing” and said: “The opposition will not hesitate to take action to overturn the budget bill.” We will have a difficult week ahead, and the situation will become even more difficult as the voting day approaches, but with the approval of the budget, we will have stability for many years, and the opposition will face division. What they are doing is very unfortunate. We are approving the budget because Israel needs stability and no one wants us to go to new elections.
