Resigned government commander: Riyadh has left us alone in the Ma’rib war.
Sources close to the government of ousted and fugitive Yemeni President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi reported that Saudi Arabia no longer supported elements of the government in the Ma’rib war.
The recent figures released by the Saudi-Emirati coalition on the death toll of the Yemeni army and popular committees in the Ma’rib war are “exaggerated,” the Belqis news network quoted a “senior military source in the Ministry of Defense” as saying.
Meanwhile, the aggressor Saudi-Emirati coalition has claimed in the past three days that it has bombed 88 positions of Yemeni forces in the western part of Ma’rib province. The network reported, however, that there had been no more than 30 attacks in the past seven days.
A source close to the resigned government, who did not want to be named, said that “Saudi Arabia has been withdrawing its defense equipment and the rest of its forces in recent months and has changed its position vaguely [about the war].”
He also claimed that if Saudi Arabia had been serious in stopping the advance of Ansar al-Islam, “it would have left its air defenses and would not have left the national army (Hadi elements) alone against the attacks of the Houthis (Ansarullah) and their drones and ballistic missiles.” .
The Belgian network quoted observers as saying that Saudi Arabia’s stance was due to the pressure it has endured in the Yemeni case, which is related to the “hidden war inside the Saudi regime.”
The network also quoted the military expert as saying that Saudi Arabia and the UAE are no longer the only actors in Yemen, but that Britain and other foreign countries are also pursuing their interests in Yemen and its strategic waters and ports.
In this regard, Al-Bawaba Al-Akhbariya Al-Alamiya news website also reported that the aim of Riyadh’s actions is to get rid of Hadi and the Brotherhood Party.
According to the base, some reformist leaders have also instructed their leaders to leave Ma’rib immediately and move towards Hadramaut; Because they believe that Riyadh has stopped supporting the Hadi elements.
The battle for the liberation of the important province of Ma’rib in the east of Sanaa province began last year and most of its areas and cities have come under the control of Sanaa forces.
