Dengue situation worsens in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa The number of dengue patients is increasing, 508 more dengue patients have come forward from across Punjab, 142 new cases of dengue were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in 24 hours.
According to the health department, another 152 people fell ill with dengue in the federal capital Islamabad. Similarly, dengue virus has been confirmed in 53 more people in Sindh province out of which 32 patients are said to be from Karachi.
On the other hand, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar, while ordering an effective campaign to control dengue, said that the concerned departments and agencies should play their full role in curbing the spread of dengue and ensure implementation of the plan for anti-dengue. The Chief Minister directed that the administrative officers should continue effective monitoring of anti-dengue measures, dengue larvae should be eradicated by effective surveillance of government and private buildings, continuous monitoring should be continued in tire shops and cemeteries, negligence in anti-dengue measures is not tolerated. ۔
