According to Reuters, the Financial Times reported on Friday, quoting Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan, that the Saudi-Iranian talks were “sincere” and “exploratory”.
“We are serious about these talks,” Farhan told the Financial Times. For us, [this] change is not very important. “We have always said that we want to find a way to stabilize the region.”
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian had previously welcomed the continuation of talks and practical results that would benefit both sides and the region, stating that “Tehran did not cut off diplomatic relations with Saudi Arabia, but it was a decision. “It was adopted by Saudi Arabia a few years ago.”
Amir Abdullahian also stressed that he considers the current negotiation process constructive and that Iran hopes that the two sides will achieve appropriate results.
This high-ranking diplomat of our country called both Iran and Saudi Arabia important countries in the region and noted that the role of these two countries in helping sustainable development and security and growth of the region is important.
