Federal Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry while giving a statement regarding the appointment of new DG ISI said that legal method will be adopted for it, the future of civil-military relations will be even better.
According to details, Lieutenant General Nadeem Anjum was appointed as the new DG ISI by the Pakistan Army on October 6. The notification of this appointment has not been issued by the Prime Minister’s House yet. On the rumors, the Prime Minister clarified that no attempt should be made to misrepresent the issue of notification, we are on one page, this issue will be resolved amicably soon.
After the meeting, Federal Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry revealed in a policy statement issued by the government at a press conference that the Prime Minister had a long meeting with the Army Chief last night. There are good relations, the future of civil-military relations will be even better.
Fawad Chaudhry said that the Prime Minister’s House would not take any step that would tarnish the image of Pakistan and the Commander-in-Chief.
The Information Minister said that legal procedure would be followed for the appointment of new DG ISI. Both agreed that the authority belongs to the Prime Minister and all the constitutional and legal requirements would be met in the appointment. I also appreciated the role of the media, saying that the media has done responsible reporting in the case of DG ISI.
