A spokesman for the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) said the arrested terrorists belonged to a banned organization aimed at spreading sectarianism, from whose possession IEDs, grenades and weapons were recovered.
A few days ago, the security agencies foiled a major terror plot in Karachi by taking timely action. Two terrorists of the banned outfit were arrested from Karachi Sher Shah. The terrorists work for the Indian intelligence agency. Two grenades, CDs based on anti-national literature have been recovered from the alleged terrorists.
SSP Kemari Fida Hussain said that the arrested alleged terrorists work for the intelligence agency of the neighboring country. The alleged terrorists are also involved in brainwashing the youth on social media. The accused planned to target the railway track, coal train and gas line. The alleged terrorists were also doing reiki for law enforcement officers. The alleged terrorists were caught with the help of intelligence agencies.
Similarly, in Lahore, security agencies foiled a terror plot by taking timely action. CTD conducted various intelligence-based operations across Punjab, including Lahore. The arrested terrorists include Mohammad Farhan, Mohammad Arshad and Mazhar Abbas. The arrested terrorists were planning to target government installations.
