A joint poll by USA Today and Suffolk University found that Americans were less than 41 percent satisfied with the performance of President Joe Biden, and that more than 55 percent of Americans were dissatisfied with Biden’s performance, according to the Congressional Information Service.
According to the report, 62 percent of those polled said they were dissatisfied with Biden’s handling of the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan, and only 26 percent said Americans were satisfied with Biden’s performance in Afghanistan.
About 82 percent of those polled said the issue of Afghanistan was very or relatively important to them.
Americans are less than 50 percent satisfied with Biden’s performance in recent polls, the first time Biden has come to power that his popularity among American citizens has dropped to less than 50 percent.
A joint Hill-Harris X poll also found that Biden’s popularity had fallen below 49 percent, down 6 percent from 55 percent earlier this month.
About 60 percent of those polled by USA Today said the war in Afghanistan was not worth it, and 53 percent supported the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan.
Most pollsters also blamed former US President George W. Bush for the start of the war in Afghanistan and the continued US military presence in the country.
